Teddy's Fund is a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing scholarships to financially challenged, yet academically capable young men. The Fund was started in 2002 in memory of Edward "Teddy" Hall Gmelich after his sudden death from a viral infection which damaged his heart.
Over the past nine years Teddy’s Fund has provided numerous academic scholarships. The majority of these scholarship recipients have attended Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in Lincroft, New Jersey and Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California.
Presently, there are two boys on full scholarship at CBA and three boys on full scholarship at Loyola High School as well as seven boys on partial scholarships at both schools. Teddy's Fund has also graduated three boys who have gone on to attend four-year colleges.
Every dollar donated to Teddy’s Fund goes directly to these scholarships. All expenses and fundraising efforts are underwritten by Victoria and Justin Gmelich.
